My new fabric came from White Tree Fabrics – black flower embroidered lawn. It is absolutely gorgeous and lovely to sew. I am so happy to be a blogger for them and use their gorgeous fabric. It definitely is all about quality when home sewing.
I decided to make the same pattern as La Maison Bleu as it was such a quick dress to make. Simplicity K1609
I decided to use a 9inch concealed side zip again and this time decided to use the beautiful detailing as the hem.
As you know I love bows…so had to make the bow ASAP!
I used the hem as the ends of the bows to look extra pretty!
Fabric: 2 metres of Lawn from White Tree Fabrics
Notions: 9inch zip and self made bias binding for sleeves and neck.

Great dress! I love the way you’ve used the pattern of the fabric to emphasise the features of the dress.

I do love a good bow! But I’ve never made such a nice bow as you have on your dress, using the selvage was an inspired idea. 🙂

This is the next pattern on my list and your dress is so lovely that it has made me even more excited about sewing it! I was going to do the dress with the collar but now I’m thinking the bow would be nice! Decisions, decisions….

Thanks! It is really easy to sew and I love the front darts. Never sewn darts like this before but they make the fit so good. I didn’t do the facings etc, just some bias in black cotton. Mmmm, I quite fancy the collar too!!! Haha

Thanks. It is such a quick make, honest. Once it’s cut out it just has six darts and side seams! The longest time was on the neck and armholes…I made my own bias tape with some black cotton poplin. 🎀

Thank you. Isn’t it gorgeous!? I knew you would love it! The fabric is just beautiful and I managed to get a really good fit on my neck… The last few things I have made have had a gape in the neck, so glad to make something that fits again!
