#GBSB3, Knitting and Stitching Show, Olympia, Ponti Roma, simple Sew, skater dress, White Tree Fabrics
The lovely wife of King Bee Matt arranged for the Bees to meet up at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia last Saturday. As you know I usually visit the show when it is in Harrogate and do a blog post of my visit.
So the Bees met for a coffee before heading in to the Show…..we did lose a Neil to begin with,as he was in the queue with an admiring crowd!
I had emailed Lisa at WT as I was really excited to think they may have a stall and I might finally get to meet her! I can’t wait for that! Sadly, not this year, so I decided instead to take White Tree with me!
I used this beautiful petrol Ponti Roma to make The Olympia!
As a blogger for WT I can choose the fabric to make for a blog post, and this is a definite go-to knit to use. It is a lovely fabric to sew with. I also made the Wiggle Dress from the same fabric in black.
I have made lots of these dresses now, but I feel really comfortable in this style and feel like it is very complimentary to my body shape. It is the first Skater Dress in a knit, however. The York and The Elizabeth are in wool mix fabrics.
Back to the show……it was the best day ever! Lots of lovely people recognised us and wanted photos of us and their book signing. I had a ball! Talking and smiling is what I am all about so I had a great time!
The nearest we got to being a VIP!!!
We did lose Neil at one point……
And of course my Sewing Bee experience would have not been the same without my partner in crime………
I am just wondering where Paul is!?! I think he was missing when I took my photos!
If you asked for a photo or I signed your book…Thank You….you really made my day!
More importantly………
I bought some trims you may recognise from my Harrogate post and some beautiful peacock fabric for the next Lottie blouse. I saw this beautiful 1920s fabric which was designed and made by a couple from France. They had the most beautiful fabric on their stall, I wanted all of it….but settled on a metre of this postcard style cotton.
Finally….the final!
But the best part of the final….(sorry Matt)
Hope you have enjoyed my Sewing Bee related posts!
That’s it folks! Back to the usual twirling, swirling me, me, me posts from now on!
But it was certainly a once in a lifetime experience!

I will miss your round-ups! The belt looks perfect with the dress – did you go for the deep V back?

No! I rounded it off by putting the front pattern piece on the top of the back one and cutting the same front neck shape but lower down! And no zip as it was stretchy!

Looks like you had a blast. Love the dress. I’m really going to miss my Thursday nights in with The Bee. Thankfully I was given the book for Mothers Day! Well done you. x

Those trims are exquisite! And the fabric… can’t wait to see more of it! (Hope you sew it up soon.)
But what a fab time for all you Bees to get together again ~ was able to enjoy **all** episodes this season, and it was entertaining as well as instructive. Am so grateful to have seen them! And to you for participating, and giving such good round-ups after each episode.
Onward to Spring, and more twirls! xx del

How exciting! Your dress is wonderful and I am drooling over those blue shoes!! I went to the Olympia on Sunday and managed to get a ‘few’ bits and bobs including some trims from the same stall – it took me ages to choose! Well done on all your GBSB achievements. 🙂

Well done on the dress. It looks very neat. The colour is fab too. I’ve get to go to one of these shows but will find a few dates in my diary. I’ll have to take a suitcase for all the stuff I’d bring back though 😀

Looks like a great day, the show is at the NEC next week but I am unable to go. Maybe next year ! I have the Skater dress pattern on my to do list. With the ponti roma fabric did you not need the zip? (not used jersey yet but want to !)

No….no zip!!! Bonus or what!! The show was very different in Harrogate…….you could not move for people! Was very calm and relaxed at Olympia!
