Well, I finally got round to sewing something…….only because the pressure was on to go to the blogger meet up! I made up NewLook 6145 to wear . I bought the fabric 18 months ago and never had time to sew it into something.
Ali from Thimberlina had organised another meet up for the Yorkshire Spoolettes. It is really great to meet everyone in person and the funny thing is everyone is always just how you expect them to be after reading their blogs! It was lovely to meet you all!
Here is the Ali and Amanda selfie we sent to Neela as she couldn’t make it this time.
We all met in the cafe for an hour and had a good sewing chat with everyone before we headed to the fabric shops.
Oops I missed the photo of Therésa from Navy Blue Threads and Jean…. Who doesn’t have a blog but was showing us her beautiful hand made bags.
The blouse I made is supposed to be a dress…. And I cut it too short!
It’s also big enough to slip over the head , so didn’t actually need the invisible zip which took me ages to put in with some type of matching!
Can you believe I managed to buy some matching shoes!!?? But it was far too wet and miserable to wear them!
Pattern: New Look 6145
Fabric: 1.5 m of cotton , two buttons and an unnecessary zip!
Wonky factor…..7/10 it’s a really unusual neck which passed the work colleagues likability test BUT not if you wear it under a coat! It gets rather crumpled!

Very pretty! I love the matching even if you say you didn’t need the zipper! Lovely!

Awww thank you!! It is sew (!) nice to have a sewing group of friends. Ali is an expert organiser so hopefully she will keep up the good work!! However, everyone needs to sew up all that fabric first!! After I had left they decided to do a blog post in one months time about something they made from what they bought………I only bought dishcloth wool!!!!! I have plans !!! Hahaha X

I’ll be watching for updates! None of my friends sew. They keep hinting that they could use a new dress though.

Hmm I think so 😦 you’re in Yorkshire? I am just in the middle of Liverpool and Manchester so I suppose it’s not that far but I’m not too good with my geography!

Agreeing with Ali: You’ve been missed! Lovely blouse & gorgeous shoes! Must ha’been quite springy despite the weather, and very cheerful! Tell us a bit more about those buttons, please, ma’am. 😉 Thank you for scheduling & popping first piccies I’ve seen. Having some real Yorkshire Gold here (thanks, Ali!), reading everyone’s blogs! xx

Thanks Del. aren’t the buttons gorgeous? I bought them ages and ages ago just because I loved them so much! They were meant for this fabric!! I have four left if you want them!! X

Thank you kindly, Sweet One! But I have yet to make buttonholes with Bernie, and haven’t fancied buttons on anything in quite a while. *Besides feeling terribly guilty about the LARGE box of buttons I already have! rolling me eyes)
Don’t you think a pretty skirt for your blouse, with the rest of the buttons to tie them together, might be a grand idea? Something buttoning down the front, maybe, so a hint of leg shows if the weather gets balmy. 😉

Meant to say I like your shorter hair! Just had mine cut, too, not so much, and am wearing lots of scarves to keep me neck warm. Are you doing the same?

Great pattern matching and beautiful fabric – very feminine. LOVE the shoes, what a shame it was too disgusting weather-wise to wear them. Glad you all had a fab time and I hope you share all your purchases soon:)
