I was busy cutting out Lottie blouses to keep me awake when I had to take the Blog Manager to catch a bus to Rome!
I really like the style as I can’t help but be smart when casual!! So, I have made quite a few now…..you saw the Lawn Lottie on Wednesday 8/4/15 ( and a link to all the previous makes) and today it is ……
The Feathers
I don’t put any interfacing in the bow as the cotton is just right for tying the bow and making it sit perfectly in the neck.
I had a new cardigan to match and so decided to make it sleeveless. It is also lovely and sunny here in the North East of England! I added my own bias binding edging to the armholes and decided to make them visible on the edge of the sleeve. I hand stitched this down inside.
And styling………
An extra arty shot for you… It reminds me of photos in the 1970s!
Pattern: Simple Sew Lottie Blouse
Fabric: 1.5m of cotton from this post from The Knitting and Stitching Show
Wonky Factor: 10/10 as I am loving to wear a Lottie and a cardigan!
Many thanks as always to my outstanding Blog Manager….and here she is in Rome!

I’m wondering if you have lotti-itus? It’s very similar to ruby-itus but much more contagious! And unfortunately there’s no cure for either! x

Yes, can’t copy those golf trousers as I think it may have same result!!!

…. mmmm yes, and espressitus sounds quite serious. Something that nursing mothers may have, and we don;t want that do we!!

As always such a pretty make! I really love this style so much so I’m beginning to regret not actually buying the mag with that pattern… I also went to Rome when I was in school it was possibly the single most fun/eventful trip I have ever been on!!

Annice had a brilliant time, she is a real home bird and so was very apprehensive. She is still counting the weeks since she was there! I think they did a free download on the website for it.

Another lovely top with great fabric. I was inspired by your last posting to order some vintage patterns through ebay. Hopefully I can come up with something as nice as you have done and have some very wearable summer tops.

I just realised why I keep making Lotties…….easy sew and no fitting issues! I have been sewing a dress that was too big and what a carry on trying to get it to fit nicely! Given up for the night. But did consider looking in stash and making myself a Lottie for confidence building!!!

I have been very busy in the fabric destash sites on facebook. I joined to sell fabric but have managed to buy an incredible lot of fabric. I am addicted.Do you have something similar in England?

Ooh, I don’t know!! What do you search on FB!!??! But, perhaps I don’t want to know!!!!!

put in fabric destash group in the search and it should show up. You get some real bargains. It is it’s own booming fabric economy of buying and selling. My ones only sell to Aussies. They sell books, patterns, laces etc as well. Great for sewing or patchwork.

Ha! My tips…..just a beautiful one. It really shows it off! The cotton and tana lawn are the best. I tried with a knit but not as nice.

Gorgeous fabric Amanda and the perfect style to show it off. Catching up on your other blogs today as I have been away from the blog world since we last chatted. Glad to hear you got some sunny and warm weather up there. Cold and raining down here at the bottom of the globe. Winter approaching fast. Great for crafting. 🙂
