I had to take Annice to school at 12pm on a Saturday night for her school visit to Rome, so I knew I had to stay awake and not drop asleep…..I knew sewing was out of the question because it would have gone wrong , but cutting out!!????
Here is the pattern:
So with great gusto, I cut out three Lottie blouses! I know, I know…I need to get out more! But I love the Lottie pattern so much. It fits beautifully, I love the vintage style and I just love wearing it!
I decided to hunt out my left overs from the Lawn Bow dress I made for White Tree Fabrics last year.
The White Tree newsletter said that Lisa was hoping for some pastel shades on the website soon and I couldn’t agree more. This is such a beautiful fabric to wear and sew! It would look great in a Summer dress, skirt or blouse.
I love the bow, and I didn’t sew the ends so that the fancy edging showed.
I used shop bought bias binding on the sleeves and hand stitched it down.
How did I wear it….. I wore my shop bought (from years ago!!) geometric black and white raincoat! I have always loved a raincoat!
Pattern: The Lottie Blouse -Simple Sew
Also made here: The Lace Lottie, The Paisley Bow
Fabric: Black Lawn from White Tree Fabrics. Use my 20% off code – SEWDEPUTY at the checkout.
Wonky Factor: 9/10 . I love it but think it should be a little more fitted at the sides. A new blouse from leftovers! Thanks White Tree!

It looks lovely and works so well with the fabric! I’ve got this pattern in my stash, think I’ll have to dig it out and give it a go now!

Yes, I think so! It is so comfy to wear, but feel like it is smart. I like wearing them with my jeans and a cardi!!! I ❤️a cardigan!

It looks great! My sleeveless Lottie blouse is my favourite (no bunching up in the sleeves of cardigans!) It’s certainly a quick, easy make and looks fab on you! Have you made the Lottie skirt yet? This is next on my list and it would be good to know what the fit was like.

Yes, I made it here:

It is a nice fit although I made mine on the large size and then wished I had been brave enough to make it smaller!!
Yes, sleeveless and cardi …perfect!

Thanks for the link, I remember admiring it before, but I had forgotten that it was a Lottie! I’ll measure the pattern pieces before I take the plunge and cut out the pieces – fingers crossed! 🙂

Yes, it’s a nice skirt pattern. I never seem to get them exactly right fitting wise on me! Good luck! Is it to go with Lottie blouse!?!

I bought some sage green needle cord a while ago and it would make a wonderful pencil skirt. I’ve been putting off the cutting process as the fabric is so lovely that I don’t want to ruin it! Seeing yours has motivated me to take the plunge! I am making a floral vintage top to go with it but there is always room in the wardrobe for another Lottie blouse 😉

That IS a great blouse! No wonder you needed to cut out 3! I especially like the ends of the tie- very clever using the pretty edge!

What a fresh spring look. The scallops at the end of the tie is a great detail. Amazing that it was made with leftover fabric, perfect.

Love the little blouse on you, I need to venture into some cotton tops like that now summers just around the corner. You’re looking very trim too, are you still doing lots of walking? 👟👡👠👡👟
