I had to tell you about my lovely afternoon. When I was on the #GBSB I was in our local paper on two occasions.
One of the articles was actually about Jean and her Sew Cafe and she very kindly mentioned that I needed to call in for a cuppa and cake……sewing, coffee, cake…Jean should have known it wouldn’t take me long to call in! And so….today was the day!
I managed to time it to when there was a sewing group on, all very busy at work…and so polite they all came to sit and have a coffee with me! What lovely people…..sewists always are! Note to self……”do I ever stop talking??!!??”
I bought some fabric I had spotted on the website before I visited for a Summer Ruby! I love The Palma for Summer so I am planning a few more for this year.
I have new black Summer shoes, so I thought this fabric would look lovely.
Annice is in Rome this week, so I am hoping for a full sewing day tomorrow without any teenage groaning!!
As I left Jean gave me a little goody bag for calling in…..think it should be me thanking you Jean! When I showed Tom (my son) he said ” what a thoughtful present ” and I couldn’t agree more.
I am so delighted to find some local sewists and a great fabric shop. I have made plans to go back and make a statement coat in some fabulous fabric Jean pointed out!
Wouldn’t that be a great Summer Mac!?!
Lovely to meet you all!

What a lovely visit. I would want to spend all my afternoons there.
Enjoy your teenage free sewing time.

Ah, this blog has come at the perfect time! My most recent sewing course has now ended and I’ve been looking for somewhere to sew with a couple of friends from now on. I’d come across this place and had thought about booking some time, but after reading this I definitely will. Lurve that fabric (and the shoes) by the way! 😊

Hi, so much to comment on! I have had a look at the website – what a lovely choice of fabric. I am drawn to the beach border but so many choices. Your new shoes will go beautifully with the fabric – what are you going to make? You certainly have got your Easter holidays off to a good start – I’d be at the sewing cafe every day if I lived in Durham! Happy Easter!
