I hoped bee-ing (!) on the Great British Sewing Bee would give me some exciting new experiences. Here is the first!
On Saturday I was interviewed live on BBC Radio Tees, to tell listeners in the North East about the GBSB. I was quite nervous but I really enjoyed it!
The programme was podcast onto their site and knowing I was 2 hours and 8 minutes into the programme I was able to listen when I got home ……..and realised I said ‘absolutely’ nine times in 6 minutes! How funny!
The day before I went I had a discussion with my work friends about what to wear! We all laughed hysterically that no one would see me BUT…… then decided Neil might ask me about what handmade clothes I was wearing today.
As it was pouring down with rain I wore one of my trench coats. They are definitely high on my list of beautiful makes.
The Calico Laine Bow
I have also made my Liverpool Lace Trench
and a trench coat for my friend who loves shoes!
This week I am busy sewing a short trench coat for my son’s girlfriend……I bought her the fabric for Christmas and so I am very behind with my sewing. So far it is looking great and I am hoping she will be posing for some photos at the weekend.
I was also in some newspapers this week and my favourite has to be the floating heads shot!!!
Not really a sewing related post today, but I wanted to share some of my great experiences with you.
I am so excited! Hope you will be watching tomorrow at 8pm on BBC2. The children at school keep rushing to tell me I am on ‘series link’ !! I think it is a good thing!
It’s not sewing but I think I can definitely add a……..
Wonky Factor: 3/10 …who goes on local radio and says ‘absolutely’ 9 times in 6 minutes?????

Fantastic show this evening! It was the first season I’ve ever watched and was so excited when I saw your face (as I recognised you from photos on your blog). Am dying to know what pattern was used for the cotton trouser challenge. Can you tell?

I don’t honestly know. It was in one of their packets! But maybe worth seeing the Sewing Bee book when it is published? Glad you enjoyed it! X

Ah ok – I’ve decided to try and copythe challenges. SO will keep my eye out for a similar pattern. Perhaps Colette’s Clover trousers. Looking forward to next week!

So so pleased for you and all your new found notoriety. Don’t be too humble, we all just enjoy hearing about it all!
More posts like this please and do you have a link to the interview?
Can’t wait for tonight.

How exciting! I haven’t watched any other series except season 1 so I should probably catch up. Saying ‘absolutely’ is fine, I bet no one even noticed. I was on the national news when I was a bit younger and I had people counting the number of times I said “like” and it was a lot higher than nine… Oops.

Yeah! That’s ok, then. I am in good company! No, others probably only noticed because I mentioned it! Haha thanks x

Isn’t it funny!? I was going to post a link to the show but thought maybe a bit too big headed! Lol. Yes, it’s funny how we all communicate but have no idea what each of us sounds like! Xx
