I really love The Lawn Bow as it is such a good fit, so when I decided I needed a new dress for my holidays this pattern was the one I reached for. Simplicity K1609.
I decided to try and make the neck slightly different but still have a bow! I made the dress up and then cut a long tie which I attached to the neck.
It has a concealed side zip and I used some pretty ribbon to hem it.
I was visiting Croft Castle near Ludlow in the UK. We stayed in the cottage in the walled garden and had access to the garden out of hours. Aren’t the deck chairs cool!?
It was so picturesque I went mad with the photos of The Croft Dress!
Me and my lovely Mum!
Pattern: Simplicity K1609
Fabric: 2 metres of cotton
Notions: 9inch concealed zip and 2m of ribbon

What a lovely colour on you, especially matched with the cardigan too 🙂
Have got some blog back reading to do as been away with no internet connection, so will check out your earlier versions too… Great photos 🙂

Thanks! That was me last week too! Isn’t it amazing how old fashioned it seems now to have no internet! I found an amazing fabric shop in Shrewsbury! That’s not too far from you is it?

I love Shrewsbury. It’s closer to my parents in N Wales, but not too far away. Apart from missing blog-reading I actually enjoyed a rest from the internet…. Nice to totally switch off. I had a Facebook app on my phone which was nice, so maybe next year I’ll have to download a blog one too, think there is one?! Looks like you had a nice break? X

I loved Shrewsbury too. It was so refreshing to see so many independent shops, they were all lovely. And the high street ones paled in comparison! It’s a shame more town centres aren’t like that. Yes, I am on the app now on my iPad! But you are right , it was nice to be off line for a week!

I love this pattern and the fabric you have chosen is perfect for the summer/autumn wardrobe. Maybe I should get on and make a third one as this pattern fits me like a dream! Well done again!

Thanks Del. we were there for a week. Typical English weather unfortunately …rain every day! But we got the rain macs on and still managed to get out and about! I need to sew some raincoats!! Perhaps one to match every new dress do you think!!??? Hahaha
