My fabric arrived from WhiteTreeFabrics and I just couldn’t wait to get sewing! It is part of this years Arabella Collection 2014!
Arabella is my 2 year old niece .
I also ordered the matching ribbon
so that I could make the tie part of the dress look a little different to my other dress.
The ribbon has gorgeous white stitching so I used white stitching on the hem too.
I made sure the inside was very neat and used my new seam method…..sew 1.5cm seam, trim and then zigzag along the edge. I suppose it is over locking for 32 year old sewing machines really!
And lastly……the label!
You may have to wait a little while for a photo of her wearing it!
Pattern: Burda 9708
Notions: 1 metre of Tilda: £16.80
Ribbon: £4.98
White cotton thread.

By the way, have purchased my fabric for your lovely bow dress. You can tell I’ve been to John Lewis, it even came with a name… Galloping Horses… Posh indeed! 😉

A delightful little dress. I didn’t sew much when my Freya was young ( she’s 13 now). Just curtains and cushion covers back then.

Absolutely! I wish I had been into sewing when my Annice was a little girl! The best thing is they are so quick to sew!
