I had a lovely Sunday actually sewing once more for ME! I have made 2 blouses, three aprons a Trenchcoat and a shirt recently for other people. I was starting to feel quite miffed!
However, today I managed to get quite a lot of my new dress made.
It is a free New Look pattern from SEW magazine
K6124
It is a perfect fit so far and I love the facings which have covered the seam attaching the sleeves too.
I have used self covered buttons , I did buy 4 but think 3 is enough.
Just the zip to sew in the back now.
Think I could be addicted to this pattern as it could be so different every make!
I have plans for some black wool and white ric rac.
Very much a copy of a nice French Connection one I saw.
Now, I need to go somewhere to wear a lovely blue dress!
Fabric: 2 metres of blue wool blend from Minerva Crafts £9.98
Pattern: K6124 New Look- free with SEW magazine
Self covered buttons £1.50
You such beautiful work.

I love that jacket and the lining is fab. Yes, they look really old fashioned on the pattern . But was only one I had which was a fitted shift. I am trying to look thinner by being more fitted! Haha. It is def a good fit. Best yet I think! I need blue fur jacket to go over it??!! Monsters inc!!??? Hahaha

I know! It reminds me of crimpolene almost! Haha. But has some wool content. Now I know it is such a good fit I might have to splurge on good fabric!

Your dress looks really good, I want to make clothes for myself but really need a body form as I’m a weird shape 😉

You must get one. I used to make clothes and never wear them because they were always wonky! Getting my body changed my sewing completely! However, I am only just getting to accept we are the same size and can trust my adjustments!

absolutely! I’m a sucker for retro/vintage dresses and the buttons really produce a feeling of 1960’s!

Me too. I have just noticed that Burda have brought out some retro 70s flares! They look great fun…… I am wondering if I should have a go for the Monthly Stitch!
