A friend asked me to sew a shirt for her hubby for his birthday after she had spotted this fabric on a tv programme about the Liberty store. It comes in a variety of colours and is called ‘queue for the zoo’ .
I am very pleased with how it looks. I have been reminded once again, how lovely it is so sew with expensive fabrics! Here it is… I just need to do some buttonholes and sew on the buttons.
Love that shirt. I love a good wild men’s shirt.

Gutted! Lol! I didn’t think it would take too long……9 hours up to date! I don’t know why it took so long. I think I was being so careful and neat because not for me?!!???

I love men who are brave enough to wear a wild shirt. My hubby is so conservative. For island night on our recent cruise he chose the shirt that looked the least like an island shirt. Interesting that Liberty do the print in a pink. I am going to google and see if I can see it, as I am intrigued.:)

Thanks Amanda. I like the colour of your fabric better than the pink. Though for a little girl, the pink would look great in a dress. Great fabric shop on this link. Great to see what is on offer in the U.K.:)

I had a look on the tour part of it. Looked fabulous! It is 5 minutes from Harrods it says…. I may have to go visit on my summer trip to the Capital! And how sad we have not got one shop where I live! I read the summer hols are over down under!!

Yep the summer holidays are over here and school is back. Always send the poor kids back to school in extreme hot weather. Stupid country no commonsense.
The number of fabric shops even in a big city like Melbourne has dwindled. It is hard for us dressmakers to buy decent fabric and online doesn’t give you a real idea of how the fabric looks and drapes. You are sourcing some lovely fabrics Miss Amanda, as seen in your gorgeous posts. Any pastel coloured woollens in the store this winter? 🙂

None! I keep looking as there are some lovely soft pink coats in expensive shops so am sure the fabrics must be on their way for next year!! I have just found out about 60 miles away from me is Linton Tweeds who make some fabric for Chanel!!

I think we may have to have a Saturday outing that way very soon!
I do think more people are sewing now though and there are a few of my colleagues who are going to classes and getting into it! We keep having sewing conversations which is good!
When does it start to cool down for you? It is very cold and windy here today… And so dark all day! Have a lovely weekend x
