I decided to make New Look 6723 once more!
I saw this wonderful idea for the zip on Goodbye Valentino and managed to track one down at Minerva for £2.19! The zip is my first attempt at a handpicked. How do you rate it? The Monthly Stitch this month called for a new skill so I had a little try at something new! I quite like it, but not as much as my invisible zippers!
Remember I said about being squiggle mad? Here is a work in progress….
It is going to be a wrap around coat from this month’s Prima magazine.

Do you like it? I can’t decide. It was certainly easier for me to get in the correct place. I have problems with all my zips!! Could you do a hand picked concealed zip do you think?

I’m not sure what you would hand pick though since there is no topstitching. You could handsew it with backstitch I suppose though.

I’m currently at work on my hand picked side lapped zip. I’m not sure either if I prefer it over an uber neatly sewn machine stitched one. Will need to wait till finished.

Exactly my thoughts too! I think I have got used to the invisible zipper that makes it look like it is from a shop! I think that actually be the reason why I am not too sure! I don’t want my dresses to look home made!!

You’ve been *really* busy! My jaw is dropping at your gorgeous new dresses. And the silver shoes, but I’m trying not to think too much about the shoes, because then I’d have to work out where you live so that I can steal them from you, which I don’t really want to have to do, but sometimes impulses can overcome a person…
But your three new dresses are all *gorgeous* and I’m very much hoping we’ll get some on-body photos some time.
What sort of ribbon were you using on this one? It looks a bit gauzy and sheer (pretty).

Well…… Shoes are on Next sale now…. £14!!!!! Bit of a shame I paid full price but they are worth every penny! The ribbon is already sewn on! How good is that? They do navy- got, pink-got, silver/grey-got! Hahaha I think they do green too….. Mmmmmmmm. Tempting! Thanks for your lovely comments !
