Linny is knitting a beautiful wool scarf…. I think she needs to sew a pastel Winter coat!
Linny’s blog
I found a coat someone really made…. One step ahead of the fashion!
Did You Make that?
My York Swing Coat was very easy to make for anyone who has not tried coat making before!
Very pretty….love the creamy lemon color. Great work!

I still fancy a baby pink coat. You need to keep a look out for me to see if they are really going to be fashionable in England in Autumn! Maybe baby blue will be more appropriate now we have Prince George!

Nice pattern Amanda. Beginning to sound like we might have to have a coat off. Have you made a lined coat or jacket before? I haven’t been brave enough to try one.

No! Haha so that would be the challenge!
Mind, I was thinking Kerrie has lots of lovely jackets she has made on her blog! She could guide us…..
We can call it Winter Pastels 2013 and have our own widget button! Lol

Hi Linny, I have a message from someone who would like to be involved in the coat off! Hahaha we will have to do it now! Lol

Oh wow! That will teach me to joke online. We may be onto something here. I wonder how it would work. Would we all make up the same pattern and then post photos? I am on allpatterns.com as we speak looking at the coat patterns. I would need one that has plus sizes for my rubinesque figure.

I wonder if we should just all choose a coat and a pattern of our own and the rule is…..
It starts 1st September and it has to be a pastel shade. We have to post each week to show where we are up to. I work full time so don’t want anything too stressful! Lol
That way we can see how successful we are and if we want to do it again….. With the same pattern perhaps next time.

Sounds like a great idea. I work part time and agree with you nothing too stressful. I like the idea of choose your own pattern. A few weeks till we start on Sept 1st. The only rule is that it has to be pastel. I better head into the city and look at the fabric stores. 🙂

Yeah! Me too! Hahaha we not have a time scale! It will be almost your summer!! Ha! So you have plenty of time!
Do we just put a blog post on to say we are doing it? Not quite sure how these things work!
But we just need to buy material and a pattern for sept1st at the minute.
Think I can manage this part! Lol😃

Ok, will have a look. That sounds a good idea!…..we all make the same and then post pictures of each bit but do within a time scale. If we got same pattern perhaps we could say… Do number 1-4 this week? That way we could help each other? It would be fun! And we’d all get a new coat! Win all ways! Lol

I had a look on the site and you can get the Burda one we saw the other day! B7072 is that a possibility? Or do you want to find one and I will look to see if I can get over here? Looks like we can both get the main brands? What about a Collette pattern? They seem to be all the rage! There is a coat one called Lady Grey.

My blogging friend Amanda has given me my own page on her blog, She has alerted me to the Autumn 2013 trend in the Northern Hemisphere to pastel coloured coats. I agree with her that one would suit my new scarf really well. She thinks I should sew one for myself but I don’t feel all that confident in coat making. the colours are yummy though.

Thanks Amanda for my very own blog on your page and the link to my blog. I see what you mean about pastel winter coats. What yummy colours . I can see a pale apricot coat with my new scarf. Being 6 months behind in seasons I will have lots of time to shop for the perfect coat.:)
